Don is a 1978 honors graduate of the University of Montana Law School. He obtained a Masters of Law in Taxation from Boston University Law School in 1979. He earned his B.A., in 1974 at Carroll College. His practice emphasizes retirement plans, employee benefits, estate planning, multi-family affordable housing projects financed through low income housing tax credits, HUD and Rural Development Loans, and Bond proceeds, and corporate and commercial transactions.
Don has served as an adjunct professor of corporate law at the University of Montana School of Law. He has served as a member and President of the St. Patrick’s Hospital and Health Foundation Board of Directors, Past President of the Western Montana Estate Planning Council, a member of the Board of Directors of St. Joseph Elementary and Child Care, President of the Missoula Catholic Schools Board of Education, a member of the advisory council for the University of Montana Law School Tax Institute, a member and chairman of the Trust, Estate, Tax and Business section of the State Bar of Montana and a member of the Real Property Trust and Probate Section of the American Bar Association.
Don is admitted to practice before the Montana Supreme Court, the United States District Court for the District of Montana, and the United States Tax Court.
