James opened his own law office in 1985. James is a Certified Elder Law Attorney (CELA) by the National Elder Law Foundation. Although board certification is not required by the Illinois Supreme Court in order to practice elder law, it evidences strong commitment to and expansive knowledge of elder law. James is one of only 15 Certified Elder Law Attorneys (also known as a “CELA”) in Illinois, having been certified by the National Elder Law Foundation (NELF). NELF’s CELA designation is the only American Bar Association approved designation for elder law.
