Jane Skelton has been part of the Bangor legal community since 1988. Jane started the Maine Elder Law Firm in 2001.
Jane was an English and Humanities teacher before becoming a lawyer, and she brings that background to special needs planning and elder law. Whether she is working with clients or assisting professionals like financial advisors, tax professionals, or other attorneys, Jane strives to share her knowledge and help decipher frustratingly complex regulations. (One judge, referencing Milton’s Paradise Lost, likened Medicaid to a “Serbonian bog” from which agencies could not “extricate themselves.” Feld v. Berger, 424 F.Supp. 1356, 1357 (S.D.N.Y. 1976). Thank goodness we like solving puzzles.)
Jane will greet you with a warm smile, ease your worries, and guide you through your legal issues. You are in the right place when you are working with Jane’s office.
