Jed Stone, has practiced in criminal law since 1976. He is known throughout the United States for his advocacy, and he has run criminal defense seminars for the National Criminal Defense College. He has taught criminal law locally at Northwestern University and Lake Forest College, and outside of Illinois at the New York State Defender Institute. He is a fellow of the American Board of Criminal Lawyers, a diplomate of the National Board of Trial Advocacy and a Chicago Bar Association Master Advocate. Listed in “Who’s Who in American Law,” he has been awarded the Abraham Lincoln Marovitz Public Interest Law Award and the NAACP Freedom and Justice Award.

Mr. Stone is a hands-on lawyer who visits clients in the county jail each afternoon as part of his “daily rounds.” His thorough and thoughtful approach to the client’s cause is one of the qualities that sets him apart from lawyers that gravitate to the quick plea or the path of least resistance. He provides a true defense, including going to trial to spare his clients and their families from the nightmare of a prison term.

As necessary, he expands his team by working with top-notch investigators and forensic social workers to get the best possible results for his clients.
