Jeffrey joined Ashburn & Mason in 2015 and is an accomplished trial lawyer. His practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, white collar criminal defense, anti-trust, employment and regulatory investigations, and trusts and estates litigation. He regularly appears in both federal and state court, agency proceedings, and arbitrations, and has secured favorable jury verdicts for clients in commercial contract and wrongful death actions. Jeffrey frequently represents clients in government procurement matters involving bid protests, contract claims, and related procurement disputes. He also has significant experience counseling clients in defamation and related First Amendment cases.
Prior to joining Ashburn & Mason, Jeffrey worked as an Assistant Public Defender, where he tried approximately forty jury trials and achieved numerous acquittals in complex felony criminal cases. He served as a supervisor in the Anchorage Public Defender Office’s felony trial unit, where he trained both felony and misdemeanor lawyers in trial procedure. Prior to moving to Alaska, Jeffrey represented clients in civil litigation matters and criminal defense cases in Rhode Island.
In law school, Jeffrey worked with refugees in Notre Dame’s Asylum Law Clinic, served as the President of the Environmental Law Society, and worked as a Teaching Assistant for an Undergraduate Political Science course. In Alaska, Jeffrey has volunteered with the Alaska High School Mock Trial Competition and as a soccer coach for the Boys & Girls Club of Alaska. He is currently serving a three-year term on the Alaska Board of Governors.
Outside of the office, Jeffrey enjoys all outdoor activities, particularly when accompanied by his family. He has a fondness for mountains and Fenway Park.
