Joel Beck founded The Beck Law Firm, LLC in 2007. His firm focused on business law and estate planning needs of clients, two areas that he was drawn to based upon personal and business experiences in his life, including a ten-year career at NASD (now known as FINRA), where he served in various roles, including a six-year span as an attorney in the Enforcement Department). Now in the 14th year of operation, The Beck Law Firm, LLC has earned a reputation among clients and other professionals of providing a high level of service to its clients in addition to comprehensive, detailed and practical legal advice. Through Peach State Wills and Trusts, the estate planning division of the firm, our clients are guided through the development of customized estate plans, so that they have peace of mind knowing that, should something happen to them, the right plans are in place to address those "what if?" situations in life.
Joel and his family live in Lawrenceville, Georgia. He and his wife have been married for 26 years, and have two children, both college age. Joel has been involved in various community organizations over the years, previously serving as president of the Board of Directors for Family Promise of Gwinnett County, an organization providing shelter and assistance to homeless families, serving on the board of the Grayson High School Band Association, volunteering for several community organizations and serving in different programs and ministries with his church.
Professionally, Joel earned an undergraduate degree in business administration from Georgia Southern University and later earned his law degree, magna cum laude, from John Marshall Law School in Atlanta, Georgia. He was a recipient of the West Publishing Company Award for Academic Excellence in law school. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and is licensed to practice in all state courts in Georgia, as well as the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. Joel is also a member of the Christian Legal Society.
Joel is an attorney member of WealthCounsel, which, among other things, provides him access to high quality and comprehensive continuing education and training on estate planning topics that then directly benefits his clients.
For fun, Joel enjoys traveling with his family, playing drums, watching movies, and spending time with family and good friends. Joel never imagined himself as a lawyer when he was young; his first job was as a magician performing for kids' birthday parties while in middle and high school.
