Mr. Jarvis has a wealth of experience in civil law because of his diverse background in legal practice. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Jarvis worked in a civil litigation firm gaining valuable experience representing clients in Business Law, Estate Planning, Property Transactions, and Family Law. Most recently Mr. Jarvis served as Chief Deputy District Attorney for Polk County, Oregon. Matthew's experience with prosecuting and defending Ballot Measure 11 crimes allows him to defend his client aggressively.
When not at work, Matthew enjoys spending time with his family - mainly forcing them on long back-packing trips.

Case Examples:
Client charged with Manslaughter as the result of a car crash. A motion to suppress evidence was filed. The case was resolved when the charge was more appropriately reduced to a criminally negligent homicide resulting in a significant reduction in prison time for the client.
Client charged with Burglary and Trespassing. After a jury trial, client was convicted of the misdemeanor charge of trespassing and acquitted of the felony charge of burglary allowing the client to avoid the significant consequences of being convicted of a felony. Mr. Jarvis was able to successfully show that the client lacked the required intent to commit burglary.
