Paul Friedman, Esq. brings substantial experience and competence to the unique financial, commercial and business interests of clients. He began practicing law in 1978 as a commercial litigator in Miami’s leading business law firm under the direct mentorship of Miami's leading commercial and bankruptcy trial lawyer. Over the years he has refined his ability to craft and implement strategies both in and out of court to meet clients’ defined objectives.
Mr. Friedman strives to resolve disputes expeditiously without resorting to the adversarial process. However, he is a seasoned litigator and routinely appears in all Florida state, federal, appellate and bankruptcy courts, as well as federal courts outside of Florida. Mr. Friedman has tried more than one hundred trials and evidentiary proceedings as well as successfully briefed and argued dozens of appellate cases, arming him with the uncommon ability to perceive, analyze, address and enhance clients' interests from various perspectives.
Mr. Friedman's practice focuses on business interests and arrangements, secured and unsecured transactions, shareholder and partnership rights, participations, inter-creditor relationships, receiverships, liquidation of businesses and assets, pre- and post-judgment remedies, creditors and debtors rights, and secured creditor rights in bankruptcy. Having extensively counseled financial institutions and federal regulatory and insuring bodies in connection with the receivership and liquidation of a number of banking institutions and investment portfolios in Florida and the duties and liabilities of directors and officers, Mr. Friedman is experienced in the resolution, workout and litigation of the spectrum of commercial activities involving state and federal contractual, statutory and common law rights, duties and interests.
While a teenager in the late 1960s, Mr. Friedman's family moved from Roslyn, New York to Miami Beach, where his father continued his distinguished professional career as an oral surgeon. Mr. Friedman is married to his high-school sweetheart; they live in Coral Gables and have three children.
