When Rick is not in a courtroom, you might spot him behind the microphone in a comedy club. His ability to think quickly on his feet crosses over easily to both disciplines.
Rick is a founding partner of Nuzzo & Roberts, which formed in 1994, having worked for its predecessor firm for eight years. His practice is focused on complex, high-exposure insurance defense matters, including construction litigation, professional liability, product liability and employment litigation. He has tried numerous cases to verdict and argued over 15 appeals. He has been A-V rated by Martindale for over 25 years, and has been listed in Connecticut and New England Super Lawyers for the past 13 years. He is a past-president of the New Haven County Bar Association and the Connecticut Defense Lawyers Association. He also served as Connecticut’s District Representative to DRI.
Rick is known for coming up with creative solutions to resolve challenging cases. In addition to being a zealous advocate, he is regularly selected by his peers to serve as an arbitrator and mediator. He also lectures to bar associations and insurance companies on claims-related issues, and was an adjunct faculty member in the legal studies department of Quinnipiac University.
Rick has been writing comedy since law school, but finally put his money where his mouth is and took a class through Caroline’s in Manhattan. He has been performing at casinos, fundraisers, and top venues throughout the northeast ever since. Given his years of professional success, his other passion, the law, is anything but comedic.
