Rinaldo J. Cartaya, III is a partner in the Orlando office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. Mr. Cartaya focuses his practice on construction defect litigation and general civil defense. Prior to joining QPWB, he was an associate in the Orlando office of a regional insurance defense and general commercial litigation law firm where he focused his practice in the areas of construction defect, premises liability, negligent security, and commercial automobile liability.
Mr. Cartaya attended the University of Florida and earned his Juris Doctor from Barry University School of Law in 2013. While in law school, he served as associate editor of the Environmental and Earth Law Journal and President of the Hispanic American Law Student Association. He was involved in student government and served as Student Bar Association Senator and Student Body Treasurer. Mr. Cartaya clerked for The Hon. Judge Adam McGinnis of the Ninth Judicial Circuit and gained invaluable insight into the manner in which the Court makes decisions.
Mr. Cartaya is vice president and cofounder of a software company established in 2006, which has been retained by several Fortune 500 corporations.
Mr. Cartaya is licensed to practice law in Florida and is a member of The Florida Bar. He is admitted in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida and the Supreme Court of the United States.
Mr. Cartaya’s professional affiliations include the Orange County Bar Association, Cuban American Bar Association, and The University Club of Orlando. Mr. Cartaya serves as a committee member of the Orange County Bar Construction Law Committee and is on the Board of the Defense Research Institute’s (DRI) Construction Section, he is President of Barry University School of Law Alumni Association.
He is fluent in Spanish.
