Tom’s practice concentrates on civil litigation, business law, construction law, administrative law, appeals, and attorney discipline matters. He has extensive experience litigating civil matters in the state and federal courts of Massachusetts. He also regularly represents clients in proceedings before the Bid Protest Unit of the Attorney General’s Office, the Division of Professional Licensure, and the Board of Bar Overseers of the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts.
Tom has briefed and argued dozens of cases before the Supreme Judicial Court and the Massachusetts Appeals Court on a wide range of legal issues, involving trade secrets, business torts, shareholder derivative actions, class certification issues, commercial disputes, government takings cases, constitutional law, punitive damages, wrongful death actions, insurance coverage disputes, land use, and numerous evidentiary issues.
Prior to founding Drohan, Hitt & Hadas, LLC, Tom was a partner with Cosgrove Eisenberg & Kiley, P.C. where he practiced law as a trial attorney for over two decades. Tom is a graduate of The Johns Hopkins University (B.A., 1990) and earned his law degree from Suffolk University Law School (J.D., 1995). He was admitted to practice before the Massachusetts Bar in 1995 and the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts in 1998.
Tom was selected as a 2016, 2017, and 2018, Massachusetts Super Lawyer, an honor reserved for the top 5% of lawyers in Massachusetts.
Tom resides in Hingham, Massachusetts.
